This is an extremely rare opportunity to lead the bar team as the Bar Manager at an outstanding new venue located on The Terrace in Christchurch. Famous for its unique and exciting cocktails, extensive range of liquor and of course, the best Asian fusion delicacies in town, if not New Zealand!
The role
As the Bar Manager you will lead the bar team during the evening and night shifts by motivating & driving the staff, leading by example and by bringing a real sense of confidence in the abilities of yourself and your team. This is professionally run operation that offers our guests an upmarket and unique experience. Additionally you will need to possess the following
•Extensive cocktail & beverage knowledge including the ability to design new signature drinks and compile new beverage lists
•High levels of service 100% of the time a strong guest focus
•Experience liaising with suppliers and stock ordering/control
•The ability to double up as security on quieter evenings when there are no paid security staff
•The confidence and maturity to liaise with Police and Liquor Licensing staff when required and ensuring the venue meets all laws and follows all safety guidelines and regulations
•A current LCQ and Manager’s Certificate
The who
It goes without saying that relevant industry experience in a similar setting is essential in securing this position, at least 3 years. You’ll be a hospitality professional who lives and breathes hospo, making cocktails will be a passion for you and you’ll be cool and confident to boot. You’ll love people of course and people will love you too! You’ll need to be flexible with your availability and be available for late nights over the weekends (up to 3am during normal pre/post Covid trade).
