Assistant Accountant – Parramatta NSW

Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and reconciling account and bank reconciliations. You’ll administer and review the daily accounts payables process, assist with month end close, and support the finance and middle office department.

· Management of petty cash transactions.

· Controlling credit and ensuring debtors pay on time.

· Reconciliation of direct debits and finance accounts.

· Ensuring all payments amounts & records are accurate.

· Preparation of statutory accounts.

· Working with journals, sales & purchase ledgers and spreadsheets.

· Knowledge of Advance Excel.

· Ownership of the accounts payable process

· Ownership of the cash management process including supplier and intercompany payments

· Prepare journal entries and ledger records

· Assist with monthly closings, including month end accruals and balance sheet/bank/credit card reconciliations

· Assist with a variety of business projects throughout the year

· Other Ad hoc office duties.

About you:

· Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree or equivalent in finance or accounting

· 1-2 years of experience in an accounting/finance position or multiple internships is preferred

· Working knowledge of Xero- Accounting tool is a must
