Our Financial Institutions Team is one of the functions of the Commercial Infrastructure and Urban Growth Directorate at the Treasury. We monitor the performance of the Crown’s largest financial institutions to support the strategic alignment between policy objectives and operational delivery of fiscal strategies that support resilience, productivity and intergenerational wellbeing objectives.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
We have a rare opportunity for an ambitious Principal Advisor to work with the us on the following:
- Working on risk and performance monitoring of investment institutions
- Developing and leading on frameworks and structures to support the Crown’s balance sheet
- Playing a key role to help us achieve resilience and intergenerational wellbeing
This role will also involve providing expert technical advice across all areas of the team’s work, including impacting investing areas and providing thought leadership for the team and wider organisation.
Ō pūmanawa | About You
We are seeking a well-rounded candidate with real world experience of working with investment funds. You will also bring:
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex problems in a relatable fashion
- A thorough understanding of global investment markets and best practice portfolio management
- An ability to collaborate and coordinate with colleagues across a diverse organisation
- Experience of mentoring or leading work programmes
- Knowledge of analysing financial risk management, as well as balance sheet management concepts
- Sound quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills
- The ability to influence and work with a range of stakeholders.
