Working within the Customer Experience Central Team the Assistant Librarian – Central Services will provide the Best Customer Experience for all customers and visitors to our Central Library.
This role provides advice and help for customers to access all the library’s resources both print and digital, as well as supporting customers in the use of library technologies, including ebooks, self-service kiosks, and public computing services.
To be successful in this role you will bring experience from previous roles in libraries or customer service and have:
A great rapport with all age groups;
A passion for providing excellent customer services;
A well-developed understanding of library technology and future trends in libraries;
Be capable of dealing with the public in a confident, calm and friendly manner that will bring credit to yourself and the Council;
A clear understanding of, and commitment to, the Treaty of Waitangi Principles;
NCEA (Level 3) and or equivalent experience in a Library or related fields.
