Te Ratonga Pūmanawa Tangata |People and Culture

  • Part-time, flexible between 22.5 – 30 hours per week (0.6-.08 FTE)

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

As an expert in immigration, you will be confident in providing advice and support to our internal stakeholders including People and Culture, Hiring Managers, University leadership and legal teams, Staff, their partners and visiting academics. You will be the key point of contact for immigration services and support, including the end to end process of applications, for all service units and faculties for all advertised and non-advertised professional and academic roles.

Leading the development and establishment of the People and Culture strategy and business plan for immigration and migration services, you will promote the services, develop and implement a strategy to ensure that international staff are supported and have a seamless experience in their transition to the University,

As well as communicating immigration changes and updates to relevant University staff, you will keep up to date on reporting and monitor expiry dates of visas for international staff, engaging with staff as necessary to ensure visas do not expire.


Mōu | Who You Are

You will hold a full Immigration Adviser licence from the Immigration Advisers Authority or hold a current, valid legal practising certificate from the New Zealand Law Society (or if expired, then have the ability to renew).

As UC is an accredited Employer and able to utilise the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), you will have up to date knowledge on providing advice and support in this area.

You will be able to demonstrate commitment for ensuring stakeholder experiences are positive, ultimately contributing to staff retention.
