About our team/Mō te tīma
Client Services provides administrative support to the wider University. Our staff have a wide variety of different specialties, handling broad tasks such as diary management, document drafting, organising travel arrangements, recording meeting minutes, or acting as a point of contact for staff, students and visitors.
The Client Services team is part of the Division of Shared Services, a broader family of staff focused on delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery.
Our successful staff have backgrounds in a range of areas, from front of house to record maintenance, retail to call centre environment. If you are wanting to work in administration, we understand the value of your transferable skills and will support you to learn the rest.
The role/Te mahi
As an Administrator within Client Services, you will support one or more departments helping to ensure the smooth operation of that particular work area.
In this position, you will help to maintain a supportive work culture focused on providing an excellent customer experience.
You will be working in a team as part of the wider Shared Services Division. Your relationship building skills will be important, ensuring that you become the trusted point of contact for a range of students, staff and visitors.
Due to the nature of the Shared Services Division, the range of tasks and responsibilities is broad and may require performing duties at different workplaces or locations across our Dunedin campus.
Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
- Previous administration or customer service experience highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- A drive to work with students and a desire to assist in their success.
Recruitment process
The University conducts regular recruitment and assessment events for the role of Client Services Administrator. These are scheduled throughout the year and involve candidates spending time with the Client Services Group.
Once you have submitted your application through our recruitment system, we will assess your submission. You will then be invited to complete a skills assessment and, if applicable, reference checks will be requested.
The final step of the selection process will include your attendance at an assessment centre to be held virtually on Thursday, 7 July 2022.

Multiple positions exist within this team and plan to be offered in a mixture of full and part-time work arrangements.
We also have Kaiwhakahaere Tari positions available. These roles are part of the Administrator Client Services function but in addition they support the implementation of the Māori Strategic Framework activities, the University’s commitment to the success of Māori students and staff and contribute to a culture of whakawhanaungatanga in our workplaces.These positions are remunerated at Level 5, with the appointment range $56,981 to $61,348.
