We’re on the hunt for a Customer Service & Retail Sales Assistant/ Kaiāwhina Kiritaki me te Hokohoko – a helpful, friendly person who doesn’t mind pitching in to get the job done. If you’re looking for a varied role that will involve working across both retail and customer service, then this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!
Our world-class Astronomy Centre on Takapō lakefront brings to life the science of stars and Tātai aroraki (Māori astronomy) through an immersive and engaging international experience. This experience is a world-first and compliments the range of outdoor experiences that we currently offer to our domestic and international visitors to the region.
Our purpose is to make the connection – with our customers, through our people, to our place and to Ngāi Tahu.

We’re after someone who:
- Dazzle our manuhiri from around the globe
- Can blow us away with their previous customer service experience
- Work well in a team
- Is eager to learn and correctly pronounce reo Māori names and terms
- Stays cool under pressure
- Can multi-task
- Can work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays
Anything could happen in a day – and we need someone who isn’t afraid of a long and varied to-do list!
