About the Team
The team is responsible for the delivery of the transformational projects which make up the programme of work. In 2021 an independent review of the Southern Mental Health and Addictions continuum was undertaken by Synergia. The Synergia report, titled “Time for Change Te Hurihanga” identified and prioritised recommendations as a vision for the future of mental health and addictions service provision in the Southern region.
About the Role
The Project Manager with Lived Experience is a key role within the “Time for Change” Programme Team. The team is responsible for the delivery of the transformational projects which make up the programme of work.
One key purpose of this role will be to facilitate individuals and groups to deliver the required project outputs and outcomes. The role will support project teams comprising of individuals from within, and external to, Southern DHB.
A second key purpose will be to project manage one or more identified projects within the programme. This role will support and progress the “Time for Change” Programme, and will include project management, analysis, measurement and reporting.
Some key tasks within the role will be (but not limited to):
- Engagement with key stakeholders,
- Regular reporting, report writing
- Explore, critique and report on potential initiatives to enhance mental service provision in NZ.
- Manage project / service outputs
About You
The approach of the programme is one of collaboration, coordination and communication, and so it is very important that you are able to listen to and work with a diverse range of stakeholders and can present their views fairly.
In this role you will have opportunities to share your relevant experience of living with mental health challenges and addiction in order to contribute to improving services.
We are looking for an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills to join the team and add value in this important time in mental health. Our ideal candidate will bring previous experience in a similar role. You are a person who can work to tight timeframes and meet deadlines. It is desirable that you are comfortable with developing and using evaluation in project design and implementation.
A high level of knowledge and skill is required for this role, and we are open to candidates who can demonstrate this in ways other than a tertiary or a clinical qualification. The knowledge and skills important for this role include those related to: population and public health, clinical services, quality improvement, project management, change management
