What will I be doing?
This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart Waitangirua!
We are situated in the heart of Waitangirua, a community rich in diversity which provides a wealth of exciting learning opportunities. We dedicate ourselves to supporting all our tamariki to be their best. We want every child to understand who they are and to be proud of it. As a member of our teaching team, you will contribute to our incredible curriculum and be passionate about supporting our vision and philosophy.
At the heart of what we do is building strong meaningful relationships with tamariki and whānau at BestStart Waitangirua! We have a challenging and stimulating environment for our Tamariki that empowers them to lead their own learning journey. You will be part of a team culture that is committed to the growth and development of all tamariki. Our centre is licensed for 87 children including 20 infants.
There are two positions available:
Position #1 is permanent and part time working 30 hours per week with our 0 to 5 years class.
Position #2 is permanent and full time with our 0 to 5 years class.

Role requirements:
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
- Understanding of child led curriculum, planning and extending on our children’s learning
- Reflective thinker who has dedication and professional values
- Practice and willingness to develop te reo
- A fun and energetic approach to learning
- Demonstrate good knowledge of Te Whāriki and the current ECE Regulations
