Harbour Hospice is the only specialist, palliative care provider for North Auckland communities. We provide compassionate, free care working primarily with patients, families and carers in their homes, and also within our three hospice sites across the region. Our bespoke services include medical care, spiritual support, counselling, social work, physiotherapy, group activities and more, with an emphasis on helping people live every moment in whatever way is important to them.

Our people are at the heart of our organisation. Professional, inclusive, compassionate, our people are the reason our patients and families receive the best care in their time of need. At Harbour Hospice, you’ll be part of a clinical team who bring authenticity and kindness to each and every patient and family they help.

About the role

We have a variety of Registered Nurse roles available at a range of nursing levels including Clinical Nurse Specialist. As a Registered Nurse you’ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and take pride in delivering holistic care to patients and their families out in the community, and /or at one of our inpatient units. You’ll provide symptom and pain management, and respite and end-of-life care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses and at different stages of their disease trajectory.

We have full and part time positions available for Nurses with or without palliative care experience. Work/life balance is important to us and we’ve embraced new flexible ways of working, particularly in our community nursing roles. You’ll receive individualised training and support and be part of a down to earth, caring and friendly team environment.

About you

You are a Nurse with or without palliative care experience from a hospice, hospital or healthcare community setting. We’ll consider you if you’ve got experience from similar specialties like oncology, neurology or haematology. You’re dedicated to working with patients and bring compassion to all that you do.

You will have:

  • A genuine interest in palliative care and relevant nursing experience
  • Commitment to achieving registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and obtaining a NZ Annual Practising Certificate
  • Adaptability to work collaboratively across nursing teams and locations as part of a multi-disciplinary team

What’s in it for you?

We will demonstrate our care to you with our in-depth induction, ongoing development opportunities including paid study leave, and a high trust culture. You’ll be an important part of a well-established, supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team who share a passion for making every moment count for the people we care for at Harbour Hospice. You’ll not only develop meaningful relationships with your colleagues, but best of all, you’ll connect with patients and their families, making a real difference and impacting their memories with your compassion and commitment to holistic care.

Assistance with Registration and APC will be based on meeting the criteria.
