Are you interested in a full-time role working on Stewart Island – Rakiura ‘the land of glowing skies’? Our Big Glory Salmon farm is located in one of New Zealand’s national parks with the natural beauty of the sea, bush and wildlife.
On a good day this is one of the most beautiful places you can be – however, the work involves being open to the elements and all that nature may throw. The work is physical, so a good level of fitness and strength is required. We have a number of positions available working either 7 days on/7 off, or 5 days on/2 off Sunday to Thursday. Travel is provided to and from the mainland, and accommodation options are available.
About the role: The main purpose of the role is to harvest salmon for transportation to our processing factory in Bluff. You’ll also support the wider salmon farming operations in a range of aquaculture activities eg. supporting the grading and movement of stock.
What do I need to be successful in this role? We’re on the lookout for candidates who may have previous experience in: Working on vessels
- Working outdoors
- Knife handling
- Working as part of a small team
Also, previous aquaculture experience would be an advantage, however full training will be provided for the right people. Health and Safety is key to everyone who works for Sanford, so if you apply for this role you need to demonstrate a clear commitment to this.
