About the Organisation:
St Andrews College is a co-residential college within the University of Sydney, providing a unique blend of personal and collegiate spaces where students develop lifelong relationships within a distinct and diverse community.
The role:
As part of the College’s Accounts Team, the Assistant Accountant (Assistant Bursar) is responsible for all aspects of Accounts Receivable and managing the College’s accounting functions including financial reporting, month end processes and cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Semester and Monthly fees invoicing and external invoices as needed
- Prepare weekly debtors aging report
- Cash receipt processing for credit card, direct deposit, BPAY, cash etc.
- Weekly cash flow management and annual forecast
- Prepare prepayment and accrual journals
- Balance Sheet reconciliations/P&L reporting
- Prepare the imputation tax credit, FBT, Tax, BAS and IAS
- Liaise with External auditor to complete the year end audit
About you:
- Prior experience providing administration/accounts support in the education sector is preferred
- Accounting qualifications or equivalent skills and experience with working across multiple company entities
- Understanding of Australian Tax legislation and reporting requirements
- Experience using complex database systems
- Debt collections experience
