Llandilo Public School is located in a semi-rural area, north of Penrith and has a current enrolment of 256 students.

The school offers a quality learning environment which is inclusive and welcoming to all. Llandilo Public School is committed to providing opportunities for all students to explore interests and excel in a wide range of experiences. 8% of the student population are from Aboriginal backgrounds and 11% of students come from a language background other than English.

School priorities include wellbeing for school excellence, continuous improvement of quality classroom practice, using data to drive teaching and learning and implementing evidence-based pedagogies into classroom practice and programs.

The school is committed to working with our parent community in a consultative manner to develop strong partnerships for student learning.

In addition to the general selection criteria:

  • Approval to teacher infants and/or primary as well as highly developed interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to be a dynamic and collaborative leader to inspire and mentor teachers with a range of experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead data driven,differentiated high impact professional learning that builds the capacity of a team to implement evidence-based teaching strategies that improve educational outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead whole school learning support practices, mentor and collaborate with support personnel to enrich student learning and wellbeing including high potential and gifted students and students with diverse learning needs.
  • A committment to promoting the school with a focus on partnerships within the whole school community that recognises, promotes and respects diverse differences.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

From 8 November 2021 all Department of Education employees undertaking relevant work, including any work conducted on a NSW school site, will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The successful candidate for this position will be required to confirm full vaccination status prior to the Department of Education finalising the appointment of the candidate and entry on duty.
