Position title: Assistant to a Barrister
Location: Parramatta
Hours: Part-time, 2 days per week, between 9am and 5pm
Remuneration: Paid (Legal Services Award)

This is an opportunity to work closely with an experienced barrister on a range of family law matters. Based in Parramatta CBD, you will work closely on these matters and undertake the following duties:
- Drafting correspondence
- Drafting legal documents and assisting with court preparation
- Legal research
- Organising briefs
- Invoicing and bookkeeping
- Other clerical and administrative support
We are looking to hire two assistants to commence in May 2022 and mid-June 2022. Full training will be provided. Days are flexible as assistants will work 2 days each on different days of the week.
Selection criteria:
- Law Students: 3rdyear and above
- Strong academic record and attention to detail
- Experience in providing administrative support (6 months +)
- Interest in family law (completion of the ‘Family Law’ unit is advantageous but not a requirement)
- Strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat DC, and Xero is advantageous but not a requirement
