Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Campaign Advisor to join our fundraising team based in the Development Office, Te Kura Tangata.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content generation and implementation of our fundraising campaigns.
  • Undertake ongoing testing to optimise our campaigns based on analysis and best practice.
  • Manage day to day relationships with key suppliers and agencies.
  • Report on fundraising campaigns and identify trends.
  • Work closely with the Database team to define identify target audiences and segments.

Ō pūmanawa – About you

Through compelling and persuasive storytelling, the Campaigns Advisor will help develop our online and postal fundraising campaigns within the Development Office and Victoria University of Wellington Foundation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in communications, direct mail or digital marketing to bring their creativity and expertise to help grow our fundraising campaigns. You will be working closely with our communications, data and proposal writing team members as well as the universities wider Marketing Group as needed.

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience writing emotive content, understanding of how to tailor messages to different audience groups and an eye for creative design.

This role has flexibility and can either be a full-time or part-time position. We offer an interesting, fast-paced and flexible working environment, within our supportive professional fundraising team.

Key Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in communications, marketing or a similar field, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong and emotive copy-writing skills and experience.
  • Adept at project management.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experience with donor database management software such as Raisers Edge and email platform Campaign Monitor, is desirable.
