The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse(s) (mental health or comprehensive scope of practice) in our acute alternative service, based in a beautiful homestead in Christchurch. The role is reporting to the Team Coach and working with a team of dedicated support workers and clinical staff. You’ll work in collaboration with mental health teams from across clinical services to provide a safe space for our tangata whaiora.
If you’re looking to embrace work-life balance then we have a number of shift options available, based in Christchurch. Please indicate in your cover letter if you have a preference for a specific shift.
Position 1: 0.8 FTE 32hrs per week, Wed – Sat PM shift 3:00PM – 11:30PM
Position 2: 0.6 FTE 24 hrs per week, Sun – Tues PM shift 3:00PM – 11:30PM
Position 3: 0.3 FTE 24 hrs per fortnight, Week 1 – Tue AM 7:00AM – 3:30PM, week 2 – Tues & Wed AM 7:00AM – 3:30PM
Responsibilities include:
- Working alongside the clinical teams to provide an acute alternative to hospital-based setting
- Support people to identify and meet their individual health and social care needs through exceptional clinical support
- Ongoing risk assessment of people experiencing a crisis situation, with high needs
- Develop clinically appropriate goal plans in partnership with tangata whaiora
- Liaise with other services as required
- Provide culturally competent care
About You | Mōu
- Registered and experienced Nurse with comprehensive and/or psychiatric scope, and the ability to work within the field of mental health. Ideally.
- Have knowledge of the Christchurch Health and Social Services sectors.
- Hold a full New Zealand driver’s license.
- Mental health experience preferred but not essential
