Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Clubs Manager who will lead the club support service dedicated to helping over 150 student clubs. This empowering and rewarding position sits at the heart of the student experience as it works to mentor, enable, and guide our talented student volunteers who lead a diverse range of student facing clubs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a suite of support mechanisms to guide student club leaders.
- Deliver an effective training and development programme for club officials.
- Establish a strong network of internal and external stakeholders that can aid club development.
- Celebrate the unique successes of clubs and student leaders.
Ō pūmanawa – About you
Our ideal candidate will be ready to make an impact as they build meaningful connections with our clubs and club leaders. You must have strong experience in the club or community development sector and carry an unwavering desire to help students and community groups thrive.
You will be a highly organised and driven leader, who has excellent attention to detail and high working standards. You must have an excellent manner with people and enjoy developing strong relationships that support your work.
You must enjoy guiding and supporting young people and have an excellent record of working across a range of cultures, ethnicities and community groups. Having an ability to connect with young people and build trust is an important highly rewarding part of this role.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience working with clubs and community groups.
- An ability to think strategically, while operating at a high-level day to day.
- Strong understanding of the university co-curricular environment.
- Excellent self and time management skills.
- Experienced in delivering events and presenting to groups.
