Job Description
Pact is currently looking for 2 permanent part time Community Support Workers to work in our intellectual disability residential service in Invercargill.
The Role
Your role is to support our clients, who have intellectual disabilities and encourage participation in meaningful activities in the community by assisting in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau and cultural reconnection. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities;
- Support with daily house tasks
- Assistance with personal hygiene
- Ensure strict compliance with medication and considering clients needs
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Ensure client processes are accurately documented
- Adding to the teams culture by showing positivity and patience
- Celebrating staff and clients accomplishments
- Ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff and external agencies
Shift one, 20 hours a week: Monday to Friday, 3pm-7pm
Shift two, 16 hours a week: Saturday & Sunday 7:30am-3:30pm
As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend, awake night and sleepover shifts.
Desired Skills and Experience
Pact is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to work alongside people with an intellectual disability who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- A full driver’s licence and computer skills are essential.
- If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
- If shortlisted, you must be available for an interview in Invercargill!
