Community Centres are the heart and soul of the Selwyn District, creating and supporting a range of recreation, sporting and community events for all ages and stages. Playing host to local sports clubs and groups, as well as hosting all kinds of celebrations and corporate events too.
If creativity is your thing, this position has the opportunity for you to showcase your innovative ideas to activate spaces, develop fun, new events for to the community to enjoy. It goes without saying, you should be able to demonstrate problem solving skills, excellent communication and the ability to influence others with your charm and persuasion.
This part time opportunity would suit someone with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends, who is not afraid to get stuck in as a team player, building relationships with our stakeholder groups, setting up and packing down events as required. A strong level of physical ability is a must for this role.
You will be confident working in a sole charge position and be keen to take on responsibilities such as processing bookings, handling payments and ensuring the facility is welcoming, accessible, well maintained and well presented.
The hours for this role are:
- Wednesday: 4pm -10.30pm (Mar/Aug hours) 4.pm – 10.00pm (Sep/Feb hours),
- Thursday 4pm-10.30pm – Lincoln Events Centre
- Weekends as per roster, with the expectation of working at least two-weekend shifts per month – Lincoln Events Centre
- Additional hours are available to suit business needs and are district-wide.
