Electricity Large Generation Account Manager
New Plymouth | Permanent full-time role
About the role
This is a newly created role in our Electricity Commercial Team to help us provide improved experience to major generators seeking to connect to Powerco’s electricity network.
It is important to us that we give quality guidance to prospective generators as they initiate generation applications, engineering studies are undertaken and reviewed, and that we comply with industry requirements in the subsequent project progression and connection arrangements.

We are looking for someone who is skilled at building relationships, has project management expertise, is customer focused and can co-ordinate across multiple stakeholders with confidence.
You will be the relationship and commercial lead for large scale generation applications, providing clarity to the customer on process staging, requirements and initiation. You’ll establish and maintain the initial project stakeholder team, ensuring suitable liaison, consultation, and responsibilities are understood and adhered to.
Establishing and maintaining trusted positive relationships with prospective connecting parties will be important as will maintaining key internal and other stakeholder interaction.
You will be a valued member of the Commercial and Retailer team which oversees major commercial and industrial customers and the electricity traders who operate on our networks. As a team player you’ll be willing to back up the team across all regions providing support to commercial or industrial growth projects. While the role is New Plymouth based, you’ll be involved in opportunities across footprint.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in stakeholder relationships and project management essential
- Tertiary qualification and/or industry experience
