The intention of the NSLHD MHDA is to provide recovery oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence based practices and collaboration
The Wellbeing Unit at Macquarie Hospital is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, including a CNS, Dietitians, Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapist and Speech Pathologist. The Wellbeing Unit employs a model of care designed specifically to meet the need for physical health care and lifestyle interventions for people living with mental illness.
The Exercise Physiologist will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, consumers and their support networks to provide specialised assessment, exercise prescription, health education and delivery of individual and group exercise services, and sport and recreational activities with the aim of improving physical and mental health, functional capacity and quality of life.
The position also involves the delivery of health promotion activities and supporting the senior exercise physiologist to supervise student clinical placements.
