The Field Service Engineer Co-Op will support National Field Engineering goals of service capability improvement on Otis and non-Otis elevator systems. Tasks include electromechanical design and assembly of elevator simulator equipment, specifying, maintaining and distributing specialty tools to support NAA field ops, and supporting the creation and delivery of technical documentation and training. Communicate service capability on a wide variety of equipment through updating competitor binder database.

This is a hybrid work opportunity in Bloomfield, CT. Part-time hours are acceptable.

Job Responsibilities

Design and build simulators for various elevator systems. Maintain specialty tools supporting elevator system installation repair and troubleshooting. Create documents, presentations and videos to communicate technical information to field personnel. Translate service capability inputs from external sources, validate with technical expert colleagues and update service capability within competitor binder database to maintain clear guidance for sales and ops personnel in NAA evaluating units for potential add to service portfolio.

The successful candidate will learn to apply basic electrical, mechanical and software design concepts to elevator systems. They will directly interact with colleagues inside and outside of OSC who are intimately familiar with a wide variety of systems to support growth of technical capabilities. They will be required to translate technical expertise and assignments to business objectives such as efficient growth of service portfolio. They will also need to develop good interpersonal communication skills, compiling and delivering documentation and training in scalable formats.

Education

Candidate must be working towards completion of requirements for bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, or systems engineering.
