Head Chef Whangarei

Distinction Whangarei is part of the Distinction Hotel Group which has a total of 15 hotels New Zealand wide. This is the leading Hotel in Whangarei and caters for many corporate and leisure guests. Our goal is for every visitor exploring the beauty of one of New Zealand’s most captivating regions to stay in quality, comfortable accommodation with the highest standard of food and service.

Distinction Hotel Whangarei is looking for a talented chef with at least 5 years cooking experience to take on the Head Chef role and lead our kitchen department. Shifts worked will be as required to meet business demands. Reporting to the General Manager, you will need to posses the below qualities:

• A team player who is professional yet enthusiastic and fun, creative and able to multi task.
• Customer focused and able to cope well under pressure.
• Must be conscientious, reliable, responsible and have the ability to work well and lead in a team environment.
• Be competent in a la carte service and buffets service as well.
• Ability and experiane training staff on menu’s and duties. 
• Ability and experiance in food safety systems
• Be able to manage the food costs, stock control and expenses of the kitchen in line with budget and business needs.  
• Produce great food and input new menu’s as required.
