About the opportunity:
With over 150 years experience in the engineering industry and an international reach, our client has an exciting new opportunity for a Heavy Fabricator / Welder to join their Dunedin-based team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Fabrication of steel structures from detailed drawings
- Repairs and maintenance on plant and equipment
- Pressing, rolling and forming of steel materials
- Welding to comply with AS/NZS and international welding standards
- Fitting duties both onsite and in the workshop
- Working out of town
To be successful you will ideally have:
- Trade qualification in medium to heavy fabrication an advantage
- Fabricators with 3+ years engineering experience
- Strong knowledge base of mild steel fabrication and certified welding
- Can work independently and within a team
- Able to produce consistent welding to standard AS/NZS 2980 or equivalent
- Self-motivated with the ability to problem-solve
