A background or training in medicine/paramedicine/biomed/physiotherapy/health/strength & conditioning/ neuromuscular massage would be preferred but is not essential.
The shifts are in 4-8 hour shifts from Mondays-Sundays 24/7. There are currently around 24 hours per week available which can be covered by more than one person.
You will be working with another person and part of a team of 10 students. Working alongside a nurse or doctor. The job includes assisting with stretches, exercises, walking, helping with gym work & (subject to Alert level) working with physiotherapists, occupational therapists & speech language therapists. You would be going out to various activities (depending on alert level) including the gym, taking the dog to the beach/park, attending music events, sailing etc. Some assistance with computer use, facilitating university work etc may be required. The work also includes tidying the room and cleaning any areas that have been used.
He has a good sense of humour and is interested in sailing, the gym, music, basketball, science, maths, computers, and languages. The student has a very friendly Border Collie so you need to be ok interacting with a dog.
It is essential you are enthusiastic, patient and reliable. It is an advantage if you are tall & or strong as the student is learning to walk again.
Must be fully vaccinated including booster.
