What is it like to be a UC Instructional Designer?
We are a large and complex organisation, so no two-days are the same!

In this role you will be responsible for engaging with the instructional design process to design, develop and deliver engaging and innovative learning design solutions for hybrid, blended and online courses and programmes.

Supported by the Instructional Design Team Leader and Senior Instructional Designers you will work alongside other Future Learning and Development teams and Subject Matter Experts to build quality courses with engaging learning activities and experiences, for a diverse range of learners.

But from a “boots on the ground” perspective, Cecile, one of our Instructional Designers offers her view of the role at UC: “Working as an Instructional Designer at UC allows me to directly impact on student success by collaborating with world-renowned academics that are passionate about teaching and learning.

I need to think about course design and development in a holistic way to ensure that course content is accessible, inclusive and captivating. The environment is fast-paced, with a multitude of projects, across a variety of disciplines running concurrently.”

Tell us what you can bring to our Instructional Design whānau

We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Learning Design-related role involving hybrid / online delivery. You will have an expertise in learning theories and instructional design models. You will be comfortable working under pressure and adapting so deadlines are achieved. Identifying issues and proposing solutions within a dynamic environment will be a strong point of yours.
