Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are expanding our Development team and looking for two Junior Developers, as well as two Senior Developers (check out our careers page for the Senior Developer advert). As part of the wider Strategic Projects team, our Development team contributes to strategic initiatives and projects via several Scrum teams that execute product and service improvements across Open Polytechnic current and emerging platforms.
You will be supported to analyse, design, develop, maintain, and refactor functional solutions using one or more of the required languages, tools or capabilities used at Open Polytechnic. These areas include (but are not limited to):
- C# and .NET
- SQL & Data
- PHP
- JavaScript
- Angular and TypeScript.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good initiative and the ability to investigate problems and propose solutions.
- An understanding of the importance of good documentation.
- Good communication skills.

You will have a passion for impacting the lives of everyday people and seeing them achieve their educational goals and dreams. You will also constantly be striving to be the best you can be, just as our students do and you pride yourself on the quality of your work.
You will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or similar relevant qualification.
- Two years industry experience.
- Ideally, experience working with Agile methodologies.
