Job Description
Community Law Wellington and Hutt Valley (CLWHV) is a registered charity providing free legal advice and assistance to those who cannot access other legal services in Wellington & the Hutt Valley. This work also includes the provision of free legal education in our communities, promoting law reform in the interests of our clients, and providing restorative justice services in the Greater Wellington region.
We are looking for a new receptionist in our Wellington office. This is a part-time, permanent position of 20 hours a week and would suit someone with great communication skills and attention to detail.
The primary responsibilities of the Kaiwhakahaere Kiripaepae are:
- Kaitiaki Manuhuri, or caring for guests: Greeting all visitors with manaakitanga, responding to client enquiries
- Office administration: Looking after our general inbox and voicemail system, managing room bookings, responding to general queries in a timely manner
- Data entry
- Assisting in daily office operations
The successful candidate will have experience working with people from many backgrounds and could have experience working in community organisations or within the justice system. Our constitutional goal of Treaty-based operations means they will also have a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi based partnership. Sensitivity to, and knowledge of, te reo Māori and tikanga Māori is also desirable, though not essential.
