Part time tutoring role for Term 2 only at this stage, May – July. The teaching involved is for the delivery of 2 courses in the New Zealand Certificate in Business, Accounting Support Services, Level 4 and could be suitable for one person to teach both courses or two people @ 5 hours per course per week for 9 weeks.
You will
- Effectively facilitate the learning process through a wide variety of experiences and activities by encouraging students to participate in and accept responsibility for their own learning.
- Provide relevant practical learning experiences.
- Maintain professional standards of practice and act as a role model.
- Be committed to and have an understanding of 21st Century learning and teaching strategies. This includes blended/flexible delivery modes and the role of educational technologies in delivering and facilitating learning and teaching.
- Assess performance of students and give appropriate feedback.
Knowledge and use of XERO and Payroll, including the collation and maintenance of payroll administration records and the preparation of a PAYE return will be required.
Baseline Accrual Accounting knowledge, with an understanding of the fundamentals and principles of accounting, as well as a working knowledge of Taxation including PAYE, GST, and FBT would be desirable.
An ability to teach across other areas would be an advantage and may lead to other tutoring work.
Knowledge in accounting is essential with experience working in an Accounting Support role within a business or office an advantage.
A Diploma in Accounting or higher, or equivalent experience highly desirable
