Job Description
Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
This position plays a central role in delivering a reporting framework that includes both financial and non-financial measures of performance for the Retail business. You will be key in helping us discover the information hidden in the vast amounts of data we have. The Customer Accounting team is responsible for coordinating the planning process, monthly accounting process and providing insights and analytical financial support for Retail business. Here’s a snap shot of your week;
- Efficient completion of routine management accounting processes, e.g. month end management accounts and reporting, reconciliations and asset settlement
- Preparation of Contact’s budgets and forecasts related to the Retail business with ongoing monitoring and analysis of customers, revenue, costs of sale, just to name a few!
- Developing key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards to facilitate strong understanding of business activities.
Qualifications

You’ll have plenty of stories to share about when you have delivered exceptional customer service. Seeing as this role can be based from anywhere in NZ, you’ll need to be the master of delivering a high standard of service from your place of mahi (in some locations we do have an office e.g. Auckland/Wellington).
Just to make sure that you are suited correctly for this position, we’d like to see how you have;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a natural curiosity to understand the “why” in things
- Advanced knowledge of accounting systems (preferably SAP) and other business tools
- Experience building budgets, understanding cost drivers, and using large data sets to build understandable, data driven forecasting and cost allocation models
