New Plymouth District Council and our supply chain partners are on a 10 year journey to deliver the New Plymouth Infrastructure Term Services Contract (TSC). Our award winning team and contract model encourages collaboration and innovation within the team. This is an exciting contract to be a part of and the Network Inspector (Traffic Counts) role contributes to the important task of data collection which aides in the decision making process to make our Transportation Network safer and more efficient. This role could be perfect for you!

In this role, you will be working with the Transportation Network Delivery Team based at the Downer Depot on Rifle Range Rd, New Plymouth. You will take ownership of the Traffic Count Programme. This involves working independently on the roading network installing traffic count loops, downloading the collected information and reporting though to the Contract Management team. Other tasks associated with road inspection activities and collecting asset information will also be assigned in addition to the core role.

90% of this role will be working independently so you will need to have excellent time management skills and be comfortable working predominantly on your own. Relevant infrastructure and transportation experience would be preferred, along with a STMS qualification. But, if you have an interest in civil engineering infrastructure and are keen to learn with a great work ethic, we want to hear from you as well. Our team has a wealth of experience that they are willing to share.
