Position Title: Occupational Therapist (Older People’s Mental Health)

Salary: $65,778.00 – $77,438.00 base per annum

Position Summary:
Within the framework of the Mission, Vision, Values and philosophy of St Vincent’s Health Australia, as well as the Policies of St Vincent’s Hospital, the Department of Occupational Therapy and St Vincent’s Mental Health Service, the occupational therapist is responsible for the provision of quality care to clients of the psychogeriatric service, which includes attention to their physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs, as well as communication with concern for their significant others. This position may also assist in development of policies and procedures and supervision of Occupational Therapy students on placement.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

Selection Criteria:

2. Recognised Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and Current Australian Occupational Therapy Registration (AHPRA)

3. Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

4. Able to demonstrate competence, knowledge and experience in the management, treatment and care coordination of persons with a mental illness.

5. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary health care team.

6. Commitment to maximising levels of consumer participation in decision making and choices over treatment and management plans.

7. Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.

8. Current unrestricted NSW Drivers License .
