About the opportunity
You will be working in a dynamic and evolving inpatient interdisciplinary team within the services covering older people’s heath. You will be part of an experienced supportive team, planning and providing intensive rehabilitation to our diverse patients.
We take pride in supporting our staff to grow and we enable ongoing professional development including regular team in-services, senior staff mentoring and peer review and access to course and conference funding. We support student education throughout clinical placements. You will also have the opportunity to support, teach and upskill students.
About you
You will be an experienced occupational therapist, you will bring with you, your knowledge and experience of working within a rehabilitation setting. To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience in an inpatient setting,
- Experience with frail patients, stroke patients and other neurological conditions.
- A strong understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitation of effective discharge planning.
- An empathetic patient and evidence-based approach to goal setting and intervention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people both within the inpatient and community settings.
- Enthusiasm, willingness and energy to commit to our team and patients.
It is a requirement of this position to be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand (OTBNZ) and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
