TERRI BELL & CO is looking to hire an office/legal assistant(s) on a full time or part time job share basis.
We’re keen to hear from people who have a desire to work in the legal industry.
A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re small but growing and we are looking for amazing people to help us go to the next level.
The role will be varied and fast paced but you will receive all the support and training necessary to successfully carry out your role. At its basic level, we need someone who can assist the team with office duties, including preparing correspondence and court documents, dealing with suppliers, assisting with billing and invoicing, supporting our team to ensure the information in our practice management system is maintained, and booking in meetings. You’ll need to feel comfortable and confident picking up a phone and speaking with people as you’ll also be answering and making calls.
University students who wish to apply may also be given the opportunity to undertake other duties relevant to their degree, such as legal research and drafting, filing court documents, and generally assisting our lawyers with client matters. Business students may be able to assist with basic marketing and social media, accounts and human resources.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The successful candidate will have: –
– Experience with Outlook and other Microsoft products;
– Basic office skills such as typing and using a computer;
– A pleasant and confident telephone manner;
– A can-do to attitude;
– Strong team-work skills;
– An ability to think critically;
– A good eye for detail; and
– The capacity to follow directions and procedures.
DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS
We’d also love to hear from you if you have the following skills or attributes, though these are not required: –
– An understanding of LEAP or other legal software and/or Debtcol;
– Experience working in a law firm;
– Previous experience in an office environment, and/or customer service.
