C3 is looking for part time workers at our Dunedin Checkpoint facility to work with the team, scaling, ticketing, and validating logs on log trucks. The Checkpoint operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 05:00am and 17:00pm.
The hours of work for this position are flexible and therefore can be arranged to suit someone who is looking to work around school hours, if required. Equally there will be additional hours on offer, also as the operation requires and for as and when suits the individual. On completion of relevant training there will also be the option to work remotely at times.
About the Job
Log scaling is an NZQA accredited job, where a structured training programme can gain you a recognised qualification. You don’t need previous experience in this type of role either as full training is provided.
The Checkpoint is a facility where logging trucks come to have their logs measured and ticketed ready for export. The Log Scaler “scales” or measures each log using scanning technology and barcodes. Each log is entered into our system so that every single log can be tracked throughout the supply chain.
The Checkpoint is a team environment where the safety of our staff is paramount.
About you
You will be the kind of person who likes to be accurate when taking measurements, with good attention to detail. You will also enjoy communicating within our close-knit team. When working on site, the role is undercover but outdoors and requires you to be on your feet for most of your shift. However, when performing work remotely we will provide you with a laptop which then requires a good attention to detail.
You will also be confident operating scanning equipment and capable with data entry. You will preferably hold a full class 1 licence.
