Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand’s largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.

We have approximately 700 kaimahi (staff) located throughout New Zealand, 75% of whom are Teachers and Teacher Aides. Our payroll moves around due to the nature of the service we provide and can be as much as 750+.

You’re a payroll expert and keen for a change of scenery and to broaden your skill set, read on.
We are seeking a Payroll Lead to work with our HR Administrator to ensure our kaimahi are paid – correctly and on time. We use a payroll bureau and you’re the one interacting with our 750+ kaimahi (staff) and the bureau (EdPay Ltd). You’ll be part of a dedicated and fun HR team reporting to the Manager, Human Resources.

Must haves:
- 5 years payroll experience – you’ll know the Holidays Act inside out, ACC and have worked with collective employment agreements (we have 4), had audit experience, comfortable with the end of year process.
- Keen to improve processes
- Superb with relationships while at the same time you can hold the line and preserve relationships
- Team player
