ABI Rehabilitation is the lead provider of intensive in-patient brain injury rehabilitation in New Zealand, serving 18 of the 20 DHBs. We are the only provider in Australasia to have attained the CARF Accreditation, an international gold standard for person-centered, quality rehabilitation.
Our Wellington Intensive/ Inpatient service is seeking a junior physiotherapist to work Full-time (1.0 FTE) and join our skilled and supportive inter disciplinary team alongside two experienced Physiotherapists. This role will provide physiotherapy services to clients with acquired brain injury from the immediate post-acute phase through to community re-integration. Knowledge in working with clients requiring a variety of rehabilitation needs (musculoskeletal, respiratory, neurological presentations) and a passion in the field of acquired and traumatic brain injury is advantageous. You will receive mentoring, supervision, and continued training from senior physiotherapists and work alongside medical, nursing, and allied health staff as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
Key physiotherapy clinical areas include:
- provision of a specialist Physiotherapy service (assessment and management) to clients presenting with acquired brain injury
- implementing and evaluating rehabilitation plans and strategies
- providing education and training to family/ whanau
- contributing to outcome measures
- report writing
- ongoing training and development of our staff
