About the role

Our Policy Planners help us shape our city by assisting with the drafting of our District Plan.

The planning team are continually managing the competing interests of the city, enabling and supporting the City’s growth needs, all whilst protecting the landscapes and elements to make Te Awakairangi sustainable for generations to come.

The Planning Business Unit at Hutt City council is a fun and high-performing team. You’ll work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you can bring your very best to delivering world-class outcomes for Te Awakairangi.

About you

We are really interested to hear from you if you possess the following background:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or related field required
  • Ability to interpret plans, regulations and by-laws
  • Displays initiative and analytical skills
  • Strong relationship building capabilities and interpersonal skills
