The Role | Te mahi
We require an experienced Porter to exceed guest expectations in our Front Office department.
Reporting to the Duty Manager and Front Office Manager, you will ideally have experience in a similar role in a hotel environment. You will be passionate, well organized, be calm under pressure and have knowledge of local area. Ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring our guests receive a memorable guest experience that is tailored to their individual needs.
Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa
The primary objective of this role is to assist guests in a timely manner and amaze with outstanding customer service. On a daily basis, the successful candidate will:
- Ensure a warm and friendly welcome to all our guests at the Sudima hotel.
- Assist with Front Office duties, including carrying luggage
- Conduct Hotel security floor checks to ensure the safety of guests and staff
- Help guests with booking activities, restaurants, travel options
- Comply with health and safety regulations and follow emergency evacuation procedures
- Attend ongoing training
- Communicate professionally and effectively with other hotel departments.
- Resolve any guest issues promptly and successfully ensuring follow up and excellent communication at all times.
- Take pride in work and have exceptional attention to detail
Requirements

- Willing to go the extra mile for our guest to ensure they make the most of their stay
- Ability to lift heavy bags and equipment
- Excellent knowledge of Christchurch and surrounding area
- Valid Right to Work in NZ
