Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Principal Advisor who will design, lead and develop the implementation of several programmes in support of acute demand service transformation.
Recognised as an expert in this field you will help stand up a programme of work aligned to our operating model to provide strategic high-quality advice and guidance at a senior level. You will be instrumental in helping to provide insights on quality practice, gap analysis, thought leadership and advice to enhance engagement and consultation with key decision makers.
Crucial to your success will be your ability to identify areas of development while making recommendations for best practice in collaboration with other operational areas. A vital component of this role will be your passion in developing continuous improvements to ensure enhanced and proactive quality programmes and initiatives of work while mitigating any risk as they occur.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Support implementation of a programme of work to stand up an operating model for winter (and wider pressures beyond winter) ensuring collaboration and intelligence sharing to mitigate risk
- Be instrumental in ensuring reporting analytics is visible, responsive, and proactive to meet demands
- Be able to bring strategic planning and guidance to the group manager and wider SLT to develop transformation initiatives and a comprehensive delivery plan post winter
- Provide a proactive approach and high-level expertise to support decision makers to make informed decisions
- Ensure all work reflects our responsibilities to the priority of equity and meeting Treaty obligations
- Develop strong relationships with regional teams (operational, clinical and analytical leads)
- Build collaborative and positive relationship across the Directorate, Ministry of Health, the wider health sector, government, and other external stakeholders.
Mōu | About you
- conceptual thinker who can roll out process improvements and initiatives
- Significant experience in monitoring the quality of practices & identify risks & issues
- Ability to demonstrate leadership experience to facilitate discussions and influence decision making
- An aptitude for driving continuous improvement through all processes
- Ability to use clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- First-hand experience working in strategic advisory positions within government and policy settings, particularly health
Domain expertise across a range of health issues, with demonstrable breadth and depth - Proactive and collaborative approach and the ability to negotiate persuasively
- Extensive experience in providing actionable insights, advice, and analysis
- Proven experience in creating frameworks and driving performance across multiple channels
- Strong analytical and relationship building skills enabling you to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in a fast paced, changing environment
