With all that in mind, Porirua City Council continues to develop and shape a resilient, liveable city for our future generations. We’re at an exciting crossroads as we evolve to be a high-growth Council and it means continual improvement to the way we perform our work.

We are seeking a politically savvy, agile and highly influential Programme Manager to deliver the Council’s programme of work that supports the Kāinga Ora-led Eastern Porirua Development. Working closely with Project Partners, key stakeholders and the community you will be the Council’s programme lead on this $1.5B regeneration and urban development initiative.

Bring your unique skills

This is a huge opportunity for you to work on a complex, long-term, multi-faceted project which will require the successful programme manager to navigate and integrate local and central government contexts to help the Council play its part in delivering the intended project outcomes, working in partnership with Ngāti Toa Rangatira, the Crown and the community.

You will need to bring exceptional relationship management skills to the role including operating strategically, advising our executive team and influencing at the political interface. You will have understanding and a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi, including Council’s strategic partnership with Ngāti Toa Rangatira.

As an experienced programme and relationship manager, you will have proven tenure in leading a multi-disciplinary workstreams in pursuit of agreed project objectives outcomes. You will be comfortable leading in a matrix organisation, including seeking commitment and cooperation from internal teams to drive project outcomes.

You bring demonstrated experience in the programme management of large, complex growth and development projects and have a good handle on planning and investment processes in local government.
