About us
Te Puna Hanganga, Matihiko | Infrastructure & Digital – Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, leads inclusive, accessible and integrated national, digital and physical infrastructure and transport services to the education system.
You will join our ICT Project Services Team. We take pride in our strong delivery commitment and the high standard of work it achieves.
Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
As a Project Manager, you will be working on significant and exciting initiatives that will make a meaningful difference to the quality of education services provided to New Zealanders.
Your activities will include:
- Managing new ICT initiatives and projects end to end.
- Managing and delivering in flight workstreams
- Completing all projects artefacts
- Working alongside our Senior Project Managers to deliver specific workstreams part of a larger project
- Establishing strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders

Mōhou ake | About you
We are looking for a Project Manager who has prior experience of successfully delivering on a wide variety of IT applications focussed projects.
To be successful in this role, you will also have
- Demonstrated Project Management experience in successfully delivering applications and systems upgrades or implementations
- Good understanding of Government mechanisms
- Good understanding of Project Management methodologies ideally Prince 2 certification
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work to tight deadlines
