About the Role
The School of Engineering, Design & Built Environment are seeking a part-time Research Assistant to join the team to support the Robotic Automation in Greenhouse Pollination (RAGP) project.

The RAGP project is to research and work on automated pollination in greenhouse environments. In this initiative, the outcome will be the prototype of a mobile robotic system that is able to identify the pollen flower and perform the operation required for pollination. In particular, there will be research work involved in:

  • Identifying and localising the pollen flower using a camera, and
  • Developing a robotic system that can move autonomously in the greenhouse environment.

The Research Assistant (RA) role will involve assisting the Project Officer to support academics and students during their research in the project in areas of robotic vision and image processing. The RA will also assist with preparing and recording documentation for the program and undertaking promotional activities for the various programs.

This is a part-time 21 hours per week, fixed-term position until 31 December 2022 based at the Hawkesbury and Parramatta South campuses.

About You
The position is suited to an individual with well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills. You must be able to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and manage their various diverse expectations. A high level of computer literacy is essential, preferably with skills and experience in education technology platform, word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 5 $86,024 to $97,432 p.a. (comprising Salary of $72,691 to $82,331 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading) (paid pro-rata)
