Tākina Events is an exciting and dynamic brand, delivering over 750 functions and events per year across the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and Tākina, the new Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre opening July 2023. We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales and Promotions Coordinator to join our busy Sales team.

You will be a strong communicator with excellent marketing skills, have great attention to details. This role is based in Wellington at Te Papa.

Key skills and attributes for this role include:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven skills in marketing and promotions
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Outstanding networking and negotiating skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport and long-lasting relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • A positive attitude, with a passion for success

This is a part time role for 20 hours per week. Flexible around working days and hours will be considered for the right candidate. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $72,496, pro-rated to part-time hours. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and internal relativities with other employees.

Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Appointment to a position at Te Papa will require the production of evidence, on commencement of work, of a “MY Vaccine Pass’ issued by the Ministry of Health

Prior to Te Papa confirming any offer of employment, pre-employment checks will be undertaken including criminal conviction history and reference checking as a minimum.
