About the Role:

We are looking for Catering Assistants to fill part-time roles, 15 hours per week based across Auckland (Eastern/West Auckland and South-Eastern suburbs). Your role as a Catering Assistant is to provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service by;

• Providing excellent customer service
• Set up and service of meals to students
• Maintain food safety records
• General cleaning duties

This is an amazing opportunity to be a part of a team providing access to nutritious lunches across schools in Auckland as a part of the Ka Aro, Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches Programme.

This role entails working in a challenging environment, often under high pressure and having to deal with conflicting priorities, to ensure the food delivery is achieved in an efficient and effective manner. The catering assistant position therefore requires the individual to meet targets and strict deadlines and provide timely and accurate information to all stakeholders. The Catering Assistant will also need to develop positive working relationships with the whole Contract team.

Skills and experience:

• A passion for delivering quality food and customer service
• Previous experience in food preparation/ service within the hospitality industry preferred
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
• Knowledge and experience of food safety standards and documentation.
• Understanding of OH&S and food safety practices
• Ability to work as part of a great team and develop strong relationships
• Excellent attention to detail
