SENIOR CREDIT MANAGER – CBD

About the role:

You’ll be reporting to the Head of Credit & Risk Management – you will bring strong local credit management and lending assessment skills and experience to broaden the depth of credit and risk management of the Bank.

 You’ll be doing:

• Assessing the overall credit-worthiness of funding applications (commercial, corporate, institutional and syndicated loans and trade finance facilities) and make recommendations for structuring lending facilities that mitigate risks and facilitate customer solutions that contribute to sustainable business growth through balancing risk and return
• Make recommendations to the Credit Risk Committee on individual credit applications
• Lead the development of technical, credit and risk management capabilities for staff through coaching, mentoring and outcome-based training
• Provide active input on the management of the overall lending portfolio, including potential risk

• Act as a subject matter expert and assist in developing and enhancing credit risk boundaries, policies and practices
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships in order to maintain expert knowledge of current and emerging risk environments
• Interact knowledgeably regarding legal related lending issues and have the ability to confidently negotiate
• Provide guidance and support regarding loan draw-down check, credit files management and other post lending monitoring work

 To thrive in this role you’ll have:

• Tertiary qualifications in a related field
• Proven track record as a Credit Manager in the local banking/finance sector
• An excellent understanding of corporate & institutional lending products, risk boundaries, assessment tools and market practices
• Strategic and analytical thinking
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• You’ll have a commitment to quality in all that you do
• You’ll demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
• The ability to multi-task, provide solutions and handle pressure
• The ability to impart your knowledge and coach and mentor others in the Bank
• You’ll thrive on making a difference
• Fluency in English and Mandarin an advantage
