Your primary role as a Sous Chef on our team is to support the Head Chef and lead the team in the absence of the Head Chef. You’re a leader, trainer and mentor to all senior and Junior Chefs, as well as Kitchen Hands. By supporting the Head Chef your purpose is to absorb skills needed to effectively lead a team of Chefs, understand menu costings and development and run a kitchen efficiently. We would love for the successful candidate to be passionate about creating an awesome culinary career for themselves, with the goal of one day running a kitchen!
Are you a visa holder? No need to stress…we will cover the cost of a VOC or Essential Skills visa for the successful applicant!
You offer:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a commercial kitchen
- Leadership skills and a desire to be a mentor for Junior Chefs
- Reliable support for the Head Chef.
- Proven communication skills
- The ability to empower team by passing on culinary knowledge and experience
- Willingness to be hands-on during key service times – weekends and evenings included
- Ability to follow and execute Food Safety plan and follow company procedures
- High personal standards and a genuine passion for creating delicious food
