Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
This is one of two administrative support roles currently being advertised at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is a part-time role, equivalent of 0.4FTE.
Sitting within the Americas and Asia Group, the Team Administrator will provide a broad range of administrative support for the office including in financial administration, information and database management, correspondence and travel, diary management and meeting and event coordination and assisting the transfers team on a regular basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support to enable the smooth operation of office systems, resources and equipment that supports the Division / Group’s work programme * Supporting and assisting managers to meet all their organisational / group responsibilities * Arranging and organise functions, meetings, workshops and training events. * Providing administrative support for applications for specialised funds expenditure as required. * Coordinating the recruitment and induction processes for both staff and contractors within the group / division * Assisting with budget forecasting, estimates and monitoring in coordination with Divisional Manager and Group Business Accountant
The appointment range for this role is $50,240 to $55,822 pro-rata total remuneration including employer contribution to Kiwisaver – negotiable depending on experience.

This is not a Foreign Policy/diplomatic role. This is a ‘Corporate’ role (known here as a Specialist role) based in central Wellington, NZ.
While it is not usual for specialist staff to be ‘posted’ outside of NZ, from time to time a specialist role overseas becomes available at one of our embassies, high commissions, missions or consulates.
