PRIMARY DUTY:
The Temporary Office Manager is responsible for performing advanced secretarial, logistical, organizational and clerical duties for the Dean of the School of Education along with receptionist duties for Education office area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Is responsible for complex and advanced secretarial duties including personnel paperwork, syllabi coordination, online learning management system (CANVAS) updating, answering calls and inquiries and faculty/staff travel requests.
  • Manage calendar and related logistics for Dean/Director of the School of Education; extensive scheduling of appointments, conferences, meetings, and other travel arrangements.
  • Assist School Director with course scheduling for the School of Education to the Executive Secretary for the Associate Provost/Provost.
  • Attend meetings and prepare, archive, and disseminate minutes.
  • Work effectively with all levels of University staff and students and provide customer service and support for the School of Education faculty, staff and students as needed.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Coordinator of Clinical Experiences on daily basis
  • Respond to routine student questions and direct inquiries to coordinators/Dean.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records and information.
  • Troubleshoot classroom technology for faculty.
  • Collaborate with administrative professionals, secretaries, office managers and leaders throughout campus and with site-based locations (student teaching hubs and Northwest-Kansas City).
  • Assist the Dean/Assistant Dean/Assistant Director of Teacher Education on special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and related to success of the School of Education

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma
Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; accuracy in proofreading, spelling/grammar and mathematics; accuracy in record keeping and scheduling; ability to manage concurrent projects effectively and efficiently; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to work with the public; interpersonal and communication skills; writing skills; customer service mindset, bring consistent kindness and patience to the workplace

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision of student employees and graduate assistant/office employees
