The Role / Te mahi
As a Trades Assistant, you will work with the wider Trade Services teams to deliver excellent services, such as repair, maintenance, alterations, and installation of signage around campus. Your specific client group is the University student accommodation providers who operate the Halls of Residence on Campus.
These facilities operate like hotels, providing students with all their accommodation needs while they are on campus in their first year. You will work with the Facilities Coordinator to complete a maintenance schedule for the care of the buildings and grounds. The type of jobs we complete is varied, from general maintenance, movement of college equipment / furniture, waste and recycling management, and grounds maintenance.
Kā pūkeka me kā wheako / Skills and experience
Ideally you will have previous experience in a trade related activity, such as: construction, mechanical, painting industry or similar, with knowledge of basic hand tool use. Your general workshop skills will be of great use in this position as you work alongside the Facilities Coordinator to deliver customer focused maintenance and repair work.
- Physically fit and able to complete manual work.
- Cooperative, with a positive attitude to work and a desire to learn more.
- Experienced in health and safety best practice.

This is a permanent position, located in Dunedin. Candidates seeking both full time (1.0 FTE) and part time work (minimum 0.6 FTE) are encouraged to apply.
